btw,
re your problem, I'm real big on checking throttle switches - that it
cleanly makes contact at zero throttle. I find them not in correct
adjustment, and sometimes unable to reach adjustment - commonly.
it's easy to check 02 output. I'd do that for sure.
Frequently I get them to run right just by setting everything to spec, like
idle switch, ignition timing, replace dead or lazy oxygen sensors,
and in one recent case, just switching from premium fuel back to good ole
unleaded regular helped a lot too, possibly.
the report I got back after just tweaking here and there and getting a new
02 in, paying attention to the other specs, and changing to regular fuel,
plus replacing a shot muffler, was that the owner had to hold the van back
on the freeway, like it never ran anywhere near that well, or not for a long
time. No major injection parts, just an 02, and tweaks.
Oh, fuel filter too, on that one. It all adds up.
My point is, always start by checking the basics and all adjustments.
I almost never find a Temp II sensor reading out of range much. But people
do report successes from changing them.
Don't forget to consider the fuel itself. You could water in there even,
this time of year.
Doubt you have a clogged or restricted/shot cat, but always consider that
too. Ground wires of course, always.
