You know, I hear that a lot from "old-timey" mechanics who cut their teeth on Holley 4-barrels, but I never really agreed. Given the factory manual, I've always been able to narrow down what a crabby EFI system is complaining about with a voltmeter. Then again, my first car was a 280Z with the Nissan version of the Bosch L-Jettronic. I wouldn't know where to begin looking on a carburetor for trouble. Carbs always seemed like magic to me. I've always considered the Digifant to be about the perfect level of complexity: two temp sensors, an O2 sensor, and an airflow meter. -- John Bange |
