This thing is actually designed to be used in conjunction with an "office" that straps into the passenger seat. I know a lot of professors, unhappily called "adjuncts" and "freeway flyers" who have set-ups like this in order to cope with teaching at two or three colleges in a day. I had something like this made of plywood in Peregrine. It installed on top of the wheel rather than hanging from it. It never occurred to me until just now that anyone would think to use this while the vehicle was in motion. I suspect that the people who have thought of that, and lampooned it on the amazon page, are probably guilty of a similar sort of driving distraction. Mark |
