No worries. I had no idea they were reusing the California name for T5 derivatives. They usually change names. For example, the LT vans were called Florida.

Anyway, glad we cleared that up. I suppose if someone was really motivated had very deep pockets, they could buy a T5; dismantle entire drivetrain; and ship everything I'm separate containers. They you cam reassemble as a component car/truck under some State rules. I am only familiar with California where they will only permit the installation of an engine which has been certified for use here.

Just to be clear, it is my understanding that the drivetrain may not be shipped in the same container as the body. Otherwise, it's treated as a vehicle.

Check the Federal and local rules before you embark on such as crazy endeavor.
