I know people who've been snookered by these crooks. They are the worst sort of people and it's clear from the number of DBAs their businesses have that they were attempting to be slippery and anonymous. It's wonderful that in our Vanagon hobby/lifestyle we are not cursed, by and large, by the same kind of commercial vermin. I personally appreciate the way this community goes out of its way to praise the better dealers and hold accountable those who fail to make good on promises.
