There's a guy in Pulaski VA with a place called Vanagon Heaven (no sign on the biz on Route 11 but he evidently has a web page).  I drove down there a couple of months ago and took some pix that you might have seen posted.  LOTS of Vanagons and some appear to be grouped by color, but I don't know if he is that organized.  They certainly are crammed in, mirrors folded on nearly every one to facilitate crowding. However, I do not think he parts them out to passersby; I think he only sells whole vans or parts on the 'net.  It does not look like your normal Pick-a-Part.    Check this thread on thesamba.com: http://www.thesamba.com/vw/forum/viewtopic.php?t=306019&highlight=vanagon+heaven&sid=a758a4e0edc3a0e252cefffc3f8f0496   Stephen

Was this a private individual or a business? Almost sounds like a VW repair shop I know of in Maryland. FWIW, a couple of years ago I came acoss a late model Westy in a bone yard that I could not figure out why it was there. The engine was intact, in fact nothing had been removed from it (until I found it, that is). I don't know, maybe the heads were leaking, or the trans went bad, but it looked a lot better than most I've seen on the road (including mine at the time).
