> > "If you wanted a vehicle that would make good time on long drives, why > would > you have a vanagon?" > .... because I want a vehicle with all the conveniences of "our beloved", with an engine conversion in it. (big grin) I average 65-75 mph and 19 mpg on all my trips. I've gotten better than 24mpg on one section of one trip, 200 mile flat road driving 65. I drove 240 miles today, in 3 hr. 15 minutes, including up and over a high-plateau pass, with some headwinds. More importantly, I got to camp out in remote BLM spots with nobody around, living comfortably in my van. 18 degree overnight lows, Propex-comforted mornings, hot coffee within 10 minutes, etc., etc.. You know the drill. ;-) Bob '87 Syncro Westy Subie-powered > > |
