dear wondering
this fellow moved to town last week and he was in my dads grocery store for
the first time.
he asks my dad what the people are like around here ...
my dad looks at him for a moment and says... what were the people like where
you came from...
they were awful says the new comer ... talking about you behind your back
...
gossiping, back biting and always looking to see what a person was up-to ...
never able to mind their own business
well says dad ... i expect you will find the same sort around here ...
well the next day a family comes into the store and the man of the family
tells my dad they just moved to town and were wondering what folks around
here were like
my dad says to him ... what were folks like where you came from
oh says the new fellow ... they were great ..
the kids played with all the kids that came over and every two weeks someone
in the neighbourhood had a barb-a-que that everybody came to and we all had
a greattime
my dad was silent for a moment and says ... well then i guess you will find
the same sort around here ...
have a great trip no matter how long it is
yours
