By now you have had many good suggestions and I will throw in one more.
Find a way to do something your child wants to do early each day. It does
not have to be much, find a park to stop at or school playground works well
too. Just something to let her get some large muscle exercise and make her
feel like more than just baggage during the ride. A few short 10 - 20
minute stops during the drive will be good for both of you too.
