While there is a large amount of wide open prairie in Nebraska, we really did enjoy driving through the state. We got to see big ol' grain elevators, narrow roads with slow farm implements (Vanagons are NOT slow!), Scott's bluff, Inscription Rock, the Platte river valley, and a host of pretty nice folks. Yep, it could have been boring, but it wasn't.

While I tend to agree and love slowing down and enjoying the view, Nebraska has (in my mind) nothing to offer the slower you go. The faster you go, still nothing to offer, but you get out of there much more quickly. There are some great towns, it's just the vast distances between them filled with nothing but nothing that calls for speeding.

Just my 2cents.
