How difficult the job is depends largely on what you're willing to do to expose the seal. I had no trouble at all doing it, but I had the engine, final drive, and AT unit all out of the van already. Doing it in place by just removing the AT unit might be possible, but it sounds like a nightmare to me, particularly if you don't have a lift. I'd personally just follow the Bentley and drop the final drive and AT unit as a whole, then drag them out into the daylight. From there splitting them and installing new seals is nothing. Be aware that the final drive section is made of cast iron and is horrifyingly heavy. It's just light enough to move around by hand, while still being heavy enough to hurt you.
