Subject: OK, Really time for the rebuild, final thoughts...

So my mechanic was getting serious about my 1.9 rebuild in September when he decided to have a heart attack followed by triple bypass surgery. He's going to be out for awhile. Through very diplomatic talks with the shop he went to work for and him personally I have retrieved my AMC heads, gasket set and my extra 1.9 which has now been disassembled and cleaned up. I was going to take it to http://www.evwparts.com/ down in MD as I can get there in about 3 hours and am very familiar with the area. He says he can rebuild and install a 1.9 for $3K total. That sounds like a great price and having these AMC heads from Ken I can probably get a more reliable engine since I'm sure he just machines the old ones as standard practice.

Any thoughts, suggestions, etc. before I contact him and make arraignments? That price seems really reasonable to me.

Thanks, Bryan
