While checking online for the latest offerings from our local pick-and-pull I saw their listing for an ’89 Vanagon. Went by in the rain to see about it and found a blue Wolfsburg hardtop pretty well stripped, and the obvious victim of an engine compartment fire. What’s left is smoke damaged and heavily scavenged, including sliced-away body panels going to some deserving recipient. No visible rust, so it’s a shame it had to leave us this way. I have not seen the van around the 'hood for a while and figured the guy moved. It might still be out there but for, presumably, the fuel lines. Take the hint! Stephen
