I purchased a headlight relay kit several months ago and finally had the time to install it today. The directions seemed clear and the job didn't seem like it would be difficult. However when the directions indicated that I needed to locate the Yellow and White wires coming from the dimmer switch I can't find them.

As directed, I pulled the cover off the steering column and located the connector for the dimmer/turn signal switch. There are 7 wires coming off the connector and none were Yellow or White. I looked through the Bentley and confirmed that there should in fact be a Yellow and White wire.

I confirmed that the BK/G & BK/W wires are for the turn signals (per Bentley) but I can't figure out what the other 5 wires go to. One of the 5 is for the turn signals which leaves the other 4 for the headlights. Unfortunately I can't identify any of the 5 wires.

Here is a picture of the connector with the colors called out (sorry it's a bit blurry, all I had was my iPhone). <http://kippert.com/vanagon/misc/dimmer_signal_wiring.jpg>

So am I looking in the wrong place or do some Vanagons use different wiring colors?
