Let's not forget that the quality of service has suffered as well. The old volunteer campground hosting system was a bit slap dashed, but consistently offered good people a function and a place to stay. Those volunteers did a great job because they really cared about their site, not about the money they were making. 2 cents, MT -----Original Message----- From: Vanagon Mailing List [mailto:vanagon@gerry.vanagon.com] On Behalf Of Dave Mcneely Sent: Friday, December 04, 2009 12:29 PM To: vanagon@GERRY.VANAGON.COM Subject: Re: Proposed Camping Fee Hikes for Senior in Federal Campgrounds Well, I will comment to the FS. But, what did we expect when the FS (and other agencies) farmed out this and other functions to private, for profit concessionaires? Turning these functions over to private concessionaires has cost both the feds and users money, and this is just another step in the privatization process that has been no good for us all. |
