I backdated the headlights on my '86 to the earlier round ones a few years ago. Lately I noticed one of the Sylvania brand sealed beams had water in it but was still working. The reflector was totally dull gray and it was throwing very little light. I decided to upgrade to the Bus Depot $35 set. When I went to swap them out I found that the "good" sealed beam also has droplets of water in it and the reflector was looking kind of dull. The new ones went in easy and the initial test of the van pointed into the garage was WOW! Big difference in brightness and light pattern as well. On low beams they have a distinct cut off and put a lot of light down low. On high it is more straight out. Just seat of pants impression, I haven't even had it on the road to see if I need to adjust them. I put a little WD40 on the adjusters when I put in the new lights in preparation that I might need to turn them. Edward |
