Save yerself the time, money and aggravation and just go to the dealer for
the correct O- Ring.  I did and they're cheep enough so I bought several to
stash in my tool box.

861 819 297, around $3 each.

My local dealer actually had them on their shelf as they do a lot of heater
core repairs.
