Subject: Summer travel planning NY to FUNDY and back
Content-Type: text/plain; charset="us-ascii"

I'm trying to get my travel plans all together for a week long trek from upstate NY to the Bay of Fundy and back the 1st week of august.

Route will likely follow the coastal New Brunswick, stay @ FUNDY provincial park and then cross into Nova Scotia for a jaunt down the Eastern shore from Halifax to Yarmouth with a return on the Fast Cat ferry.

Anyone up there, or travel there regularly have any tips or must sees. I know I'd like to try the adventure rafting with the tides. It appears the provincial parks don't start accepting rsvps into the next year? How much of a mad rush is august campsite bookings?

I'm looking at the US crossing at the islands near Lubec, ME and staying there on Deer Island,NB Then to Fundy provincial park @ Pointe Wolfe campground Around the hook in Moncton,NB to Five Islands on the Northern shore of NS in Bay of Fundy. Then across to Halifax, and take the seashore south to Yarmouth with a couple nights camps along that route.

Am I foolish to plan this in only 1 week? I do intend to revisit Fundy and NS a few more times in the future. This would give me a big overview of the region I'd think.

And I do like to plan 'traveling' trips, over stationary camping. Like the NY to Fl Treffen I'm taking in April/May 2010 See: http://www.thesamba.com/vw/forum/viewtopic.php?t=292652 for that trip route.

Many thanks in advance Dan in NY VW Club of Central NY
