Let's not forget that the quality of service has suffered as well. The old volunteer campground hosting system was a bit slap dashed, but consistently offered good people a function and a place to stay. Those volunteers did a great job because they really cared about their site, not about the money they were making.

Well, I will comment to the FS. But, what did we expect when the FS (and other agencies) farmed out this and other functions to private, for

profit concessionaires? Turning these functions over to private concessionaires has cost both the feds and users money, and this is just

another step in the privatization process that has been no good for us all.
