Your '87 would have the wiring sleeves if it had power locks, windows, and
mirrors. 
For the front door edge seal the 87 and 89 have different flow through
ventilation systems. The 87 has a vent at the lower rear of the door panel.
The vent is somewhat open to the front of the door and vents through the
gap. The 89 has exhaust vents at the rear of the rear quarter windows. In
order for fresh or heated air to get in, the air already in the van has to
get out.

I noticed on a junkyard '89 the other day that it has rubber seals filling
the gap at the leading edge of the front doors, seals my '87 does not have. 
It also has nice formed rubber tubes to route the wires (for power mirrors,
speakers, etc.) as they pass from the body into the doors.  Would it be
worth getting these for my van?  Looks like the doors have to come off for
seal removal/installation, which looks like a lot of work.  I know the tubes
or something like them would be worth it as my own van has severed wires
from being cut by repeated door action.
