dear fellow vagoniters

today i buttoned up the rest of the tin under the engine ... looks good ... cause i also cleaned it before reinstalling ... removed a huge amount of road sludge mixed with oil drippings ... it was like tar sands bitumen ...

changed out my bumper ... and the old one was worse than suspected ... lucky it did not fall of onto the road ...

then onto the front windshield washer pump which has worked intermittently over the first two years ... not at all last year ... pulled the motor and found there was power to it ... applied power to terminals while on bench ... nothing but a spark inside ... by friend suggested we do an autopsy on the plastic cased carcass ... i readily agreed so out came the his 12" pipe cutter and we carefully spun the round casing in continiously closing jaws .. beign carefull all the time not to crush the motor enclosed inside...

inside it was very wet and the field was seized to the windings /armature ... so i opened up the back side coverings and removed the pump motor from the rear reservoir and installed on the front ... some modification to the wires required as the configuration of termials was a little different ... now i have juice running up the spray nozzles... but not with the force i would like to see ...indeed it is all the more like a creamy froth pouring out of the outlets ... ;( but it was then cold and dark ... so another job tomorrow ... ??

but it sure is nice having the glow plug system working ...

planning to stop at that junk yard in yeka ?? california and of course scotts place ... :) yours
