That's what the triangle windows up front are for, open those babies a crack and all your cabin heating issues will be blown away. Always helps to have a cold drink at hand for metabolic cooling as well.

I had my non-functional AC removed from my 84 Westy about 6 years ago. It was going to cost major bucks to fix it. My mechanic at the time also had an 84 and wanted the unit. My understanding from the list was that it's about an 8 hour job to take the AC out. My mechnic took it out for free and replaced the cabinet with the one from his non-AC Westy --- and gave me $300 bucks to boot. We love the extra storage space and don't miss the AC. Though when I was driving across the Nevada desert last October I sorta missed it. So keep in mind that you can probably sell the AC unit -- even if it doesn't work.
