There is nothing worse than a junkyard on a rainy day! OK, maybe finding a Bus/Vanagon in a junkyard during the summer months and being so excited you jump right into the van and then realize a few seconds later what that buzzing sound is!! ( bee's nest) That's why I prefer to go in the winter months, I hate cold weather but I hate bees/wasps/snakes and ticks even more! I spent ALL day Sunday combing two junkyards in Maryland, both Crazy Ray's locations, one in Mount Airy and the other in Jessup. No Vanagons, wasn't even looking for one this time. No, thanks to a buck jumping in front of my daughters New Beetle Friday night, I was looking for New Beetle parts. Came up empty handed at the first one, but found one at Jessup. Much to my disappointment, I found VW attaches the fenders on New Beetles with dozens of Torx head screws, and guess what I didn't have? Did find though that an allen wrench of the same size can be jammed into a Torx head screw and it will come out. Made my job a little tougher, but I did leave with two fenders. Jeff
