Nothing in the article contradicts my recommendation to increase the ration of coolant to water by adding pure coolant. The system now has 30% coolant and 70% water. The article shows an increase in protection against freezing all the way up to 60% coolant.

Incidentally, pure coolant does not transfer heat as well as water. The way I understand it, pure water is a better medium from a pure heat transfer standpoint, but is not good for the water pump or metallic system components. I have run all of my vehicles with a 50/50 mix for thirty years, including some brutally cold Chicago winters. No problems yet.
