So my thought is this. Why shouldn't the German buyer be refunded his money by whomever he purchased the hot vehicle from - even if they didn't know it was stolen goods. Then the original owner pays Allstate back the original $2500 and gets her van back. I know it's idealistic - someone is going to get burned either way. The other question I have is which of you Michigan people wrote to Allstate? This time is was not me :) Great story.
