If I didn't have such a long commute, I consider a hard top vanagon as a daily driver (with an engine conversion), but the 40+ mpg I'm getting with the '04 Civic makes it better suited for daily duty. (Felt guilty for forgetting about voting, so I hypermiled it to the polls and got 46.4 mpg) I'd love a 2wd (or Syncro) sunroof van with a Westy rear bed, middle seat flipped around facing the rear.
