You know it's not all that unreasonable to think they had the engine out, and something went wrong with the install resulting in no clutch. I've seen clutches fail in some awesomely unique ways that could absolutely do it. Heck they could have slapped the engine in there, drove it home, then had the clutch line break somewhere above the syncro gas tank, wouldn't that be a fun one!? That's plenty reason to sell the car.... I bet it needs a clutch to make it drive, and even then it's not a bad value. -Craig '85GL turned WESTY BOSTIG in the back
