Subject: Coolant Leak @ Water Pump Flange

I just noticed a small coolant leak under the van. 1985 1.9 WBX. It looks like its coming from the forward mounting flange of the water pump, right below the mounting bolt. It drips onto the oil filter. It is not coming from the weep hole under the bearing. I installed this water pump approx. 2 years and 10,000 miles ago and it has never leaked a drop. Before I dig any deeper, has anyone experienced this before? Loose bolt possible? I checked the cylinger head gasket as best as I could and it looks fine - nice and dry.

Thanks, Walter 85 Vanagon
