Well, the van belongs to Allstate, who paid for it when it was stolen. The buyer may be able to establish a claim with Allstate. If Allstate gets its money back, things may be squared. They usually do that with a sale, I believe. Problem is, recovered stolen vehicles are usually worth a lot less than they were when stolen due to damage, or at least no more. This one is worth more. Well, not really. $2500 in 1974. $20k now. Just about equates. Allstate should be able to recover its money. Others? But, those others don't include the original victim. DMc
