I spoke with the (original) owner tonight. Nice guy and these are some photos, somewhat better than the CL photos. The engine was recently rebuilt (25 miles ago....that's not 25K, but 25 miles.)This rebuild was down to the bearings, and sports new heads, etc. etc. The tranny is untouched. It has 140K on it, same as the vehicle. He says he's never had any problems with it, it shifts fine and he knew nothing of the 3 and 4 slider issue. I asked about the rear locker and he was not familiar that it had one, but he did states that the knob is there, as seen in the pics, but that he never used it.  The interior is immaculate and he states that it belongs in the Smithsonian. The clutch issue he mentioned in his original CL posting was regarding the AC clutch as The List suspected. The AC worked fine until after the engine was reinstalled. There is rust, as seen on the pics. He says that the worst area is beneath the rearmost side windows and that if you tapped the rusted area with a ball peen hammer, it would likely go right through. The rust along the DS rocker is solid and would grind right off. The tires are new. At 3500.00 this could be a good find.......if it was closer to me, I might do it, but that's clear across the USA!
