It has the same type  defrost circuit on the lower window glass edge, ONLY where the wipers park.  I'm 100% sure this is not to de-fog, but to de-ice the glass and wiper edge.  This would prevent the build up of ice on the wiper while your driving in a snow storm.    If you got it--use it.  I sold a rear glass with perfect defrost for $15 and thought I did well..
