My 89 Carat was totaled in 1996. The State Farm adjuster low balled me. I had recently bought the Carat from a VW exec through their vehicle sale program. I had paper work showing a newly rebuilt engine, new brakes, new tires, etc. All this failed to impress. I said to just bring me a replacement in the same condition and put it on my drive. I told him I don't care what he paid for it, I want it replaced with the same vehicle. It took 60 days but he came up $6000 to $12000. You have to remember that your compensation is measured in dollars. The insurance company only uses a calculator on its end. Bob Wing 88 Westy |
