I am up here in Canada in BC which has Government run car insurance. I found out from another Westy owner that you can insure it as a motohome and then you put any price you want on its worth.
Yes you can put any price you want on it's worth. That doesn't mean they pay it. That means that is the most they would pay should THEY determine it is worth that. You can have some input through receipts, pictures etc however they don't write you a check for what you THINK it's worth. They don't make money being stupid. What would stop me from buying a beatup westy and putting a stated value of 20,000 dollars on it. I just talk with ICBC claims dept in Vancouver. Stated value sets a upper limit but in no way are you assured of getting anywhere near that unless you are able to demonstrate that it is worth that. Once again in the end THEY determine what your vehicle is worth. Like always it's a battle Bernie Vancouver |
