Rather than make something that requires a connection inside the temp
gauge why not just have something triggered by the voltage level on the
temp sender line of the temp gauge circuit? That way it could watch the
temp reading as well as the coolant level warning at the same time since
the coolant level warning is done by overriding the temp sender signal
to the gauge. Also swapping gauges or clusters would not mean starting
over since it would all be external. Same thing could be done for the
fuel gauge sender, an alarm to alert you when fuel low, even just a
blinking light. The alt led, well that would be simple too.
