Maybe if you actually read the thread at the beginning things would be clearer to you. An alarm for the alternator light was only part of the request. Your idea would only solve the easy part, no great accomplishment. Like sending a man to the moon. Getting one there is easy. Getting him there and back alive is the challenge and the more expensive aspect.
