Stovepipe Wells is not the most beautiful spot in DV, IMHO. Camping is basically in a gravel parking lot next to the gift store & Tour Bus parking. Furnace Creek even lower (-289'+-) trees, showers, golf, tourons, fresh Twinkies, etc. There is a generator free campground nearby. Camping is nice at the north end of the park at 1800'- evening temps last Jan. were reasonable.

YMMV,

Mr. BZ-better winter there than summer?
