Bobby,
Before you start wailing away at it I would inspect it with a flashllight
first. I have seen, several times,  the small solonoid wire pop off the
spade terminal. On one occasion the solonoid itself had lost it's mounting
bolts and was hanging by the large cable. But I have to say that's pretty
rare.
