You really will not see the coolant passing between the two tanks. As the coolant expands in the engine and radiators (include heater cores) and there is absolutely no air to absorb expansion some coolant will go into the overflow tank. Only when everything cools will the cooling system develop a vacuum to pull coolant from the overflow into the main pressure tank. If there is too much air or any significant leaks then this will not happen and you will have to at some point manually top off the cooling system.

I can't see any movement of the coolant from the reservoir tank to the pressure tank. I installed a new cap and still nothing. The bleeder valve on the thermostat is closed. What gives? Anyone? Zoltan
