Nop, urban legend. Or, people that read to much crap on the Internet posted by people that think they know something.

Harness: the easiest by far are the 2000-04 (like my good friend Paul stated)

Interference, you all make me laugh with that, most of car you drive have interference engine. Again, like Paul said, 100k mile duration.

YOU CAN'T DESTROY A SUBI interference engine EVEN if the piston hit valves.

Do you guys need pictures???????? You know i have many.

Worse case, you slightly bent 2 valves. It's a semi interference engine.

The only thing to worry about a 2.5 is the T-belt tensioner, yea! did you know that? But no wrorry, it give sign way before failing and it will fail on some cold morning, not wile driving, that is 1 engine on 3000.

So before any of you (except Paul) make some false assumption about Subi 2.5L engine make sure i don't read your post

By the way, i drive a 2.2L second gen in my Impreza winter car, it's ok powerwise, no more, my van as way more poser than my car.

Now, you want to know how to upgrade your 2.5L 165 hp to 200hp with less than 1000$.... give me 500$ and for 500$ in part/labour i will tell you :-)
