dear vanagoniters

Bob Says * Hello Roger ..

Thank you for any information you might pass on to us about sources of your insurance and your overall satisfaction with it.

...Bob B**** '85 Westy, , WA*

roger says insurance is a very local thing ... because i come from british columbia canada .. vehicle insurance is a government run project sold by local agents who work for casuality / life outfits ... fortunatly for me i had recently upped my insurance to 3 million liability /collision and comprhensive with a stated value typed right into the agreement (next time it will be agreed value with photos and a survey ) before i discussed anything with insurance co i discussed the position with my lawyer who is on retainer due to an incident i had in 2000 ..indeed we had just commenced to release him from the retainer as i did not require as much of what his office offered me ... my lawyers advice was to stay calm ... be brave and wait for the signs... (dead dog Cafe ... http://www.cbcshop.ca/CBC/shopping/product.aspx?Product_ID=ERART00122&Variant_ID=905V1〈=en-CA<http://www.cbcshop.ca/CBC/shopping/product.aspx?Product_ID=ERART00122&Variant_ID=905V1&lang=en-CA>)

in why-owe-ming i was able to rent a car by simply signing that i would repay full value if wiped out... the only insurance paper i had was more than 1 year old and long past its shelf life... the why-owe-ming hiway patrol found that paper in the wreck and brought it to the hospital he said it was good enough so long as i said it was good enough ... the rental guy took this also as proof of financial responsibility ...

it appears that my best next step is to insure myself and wife in ohio in the vehicle we use to return to bc ... if icbc gives me a temp permit then i have to get a temp permit for each state i travel through ... that could get ridiculus ... indeed the idea already makes it so ...

as the process unwinds over the ensueing days i will describe to y'all what transpires and it unwinds ... i will imagine the only part that will be useful to the americans reading this will be the adjusters mode ... and we all know he pritsd from the low end of the scale and we do not get to see the scale ... more will be revealed ... yours
