Yes, I am in the Northwest. Wet snow. Slick. We usually head out south for winter, but are late this season and I have been trying to avoid licensing and insuring my 4x4 truck for just a 'few more days'. But the vanagon is one of the worst snow vehicles I've driven....With very agressive studded snow tires I would just maybe have a crappy snow vehicle, it seems. With normal snow tires and all the other tricks I know about snow...it just ain't very good at all. City streets and interstates, maybe highways..yeah, ok, acceptable..but rural roads and driveways?...not cutting it at all. It's also not too easy to drive all crossed-up...nothing sticking out front to see when you may be coming unstuck at the back end... Oh well, a vanagon can't be perfect at everything...and having it not work well on snow is a 'perfect' reason to go somewhere 'out of the snow'...
