I have found that mounting the antenna on the little bit of sheet metal forward of the package tray inside the fiberglass top (corner closest to driver above upper seat belt anchor) works flawlessly. The fiberglass seems to be about 95% transparent to the signal. YMMV. ? David Clarkson 90 Westy (271k)

Has anyone installed an antenna for satellite radio on the roof of their Westy? The Instructions say that it is to be mounted on a metallic surface with 3 inches of metal all around. Being that the whole surface area is fiberglass I don't see how this is possible. Any suggestions?
