I've seen that page before. Quite a project. I wish he showed a photo of the engine lid, can't imagine it fit under the stock lid. He really seemed to chew through the transmissions with that engine in there, musta had a heavy foot.

I'm still contemplating what to do with my van. My '91 GL was wrecked last fall, as you may remember. Doesn't look too bad at first glance but it bent up some of the framing members. I have a rolling, intact chassis that I've thought about swapping everything into. Also thought about doing an engine conversion since the 2.1 I have is of unknown history, is weeping a few drops at the water jacket gaskets, and will need a new exhaust soon.

Thought about a Bostig Zetec but can't part with that much cash right now. Thought about a VW I4, an AAZ TD, or a subie. I'd really like something that fits under the stock lid and is not going to be completely blazing a new trail.

My guess is I'll end up keeping the stock 2.1, but we'll see.
