I drove my 2.5 around the block the other day, and the engine, despite the smoke, went really sweetly, with lots of poke from its 100kW. The clutch must be totally poked because I had trouble getting it OUT of gear, much more into any gear at all... quite a contrast to my 66, which I could drive entirely without the clutch (drove it around town for a few days after the cable broke). My owner's manual mentions the 4-boxer and the five, and doesn't differentate enginewise between 2WD and Syncro. Er... mine's a big-window 93...
