Since there are so many things that it could be....I will take a stab at
saying that this is a fuel delivery issue. You may have crap in your 26 year
old tank. Crap that is just floating around and obstructing thigs from time
to time.
Is your fuel pump noisy? When did you change your fuel filter last? Simple
checks. It maybe worth a look.
