Don't know much about inland deep south, but.... Papa George's, US 90 in Mobile. Large crab claws, odd characters, and a ton of charm. Dauphin Island - Bird sanctuary swamp, and an Estuarium. Bayou La Batre - Home of Forest Gump Biloxi -Beauvior, Jefferson Davis Home (stunning) Bay St. Louis - Pass Christian - Beautiful houses you will never see (Katrina). Slidell Louisiana - Honey Island Swamp Tours (home of 15 foot alligators you don't want to meet in a kayak, New Orleans, WW2 Museum, a couple days worth. NW of New Orleans are a number of Plantation Houses that are worth exploring. Maidwood was beutiful, Oak Alley impressive, and Laura is an exquisite exaple of Creole Architecture and life. tim in san jose On Wed, Jan 6, 2010 at 2:27 PM, george jannini <georgejoann@gmail.com> wrote: > Do you have an intended route yet, Joy?
