Yeah my '89 Vanagon has this issue, I have noticed it more with the
colder temps but yah I'll be driving and all the sudden I have a big
breeze and I look over at my dog sitting happily in her passenger seat
and then I look behind her to see the slider door all the way
open.....I tried to come to a sudden stop to hopefully shut the door
but it wouldn't shut!  I tried shutting it when I got home and it shut
just fine....it happened a few more times and also I tried shutting it
after opening it a few times to get tools and it just wouldn't shut,
bounced back open as if there was a rock in the track blocking it or
something, but then it would shut the next day, weirdest thing.

If anybody finds out what this part is that's malfunctioning, lemme
know!
