#1 this means you have air in the cooling system. There is probably 10,000 posts on this in the archives or I'm sure someone can summarize the procedures for finding a leak if you have one. In the meantime get the air out. When the van is ice cold tommorow open the engine lid and fill up the plastic bottle located towards the read of the van (not the one behind the licence plate, the one in the engine compartment). Be sure to put in your 50/50 mix. Do this every morning until the bottle is full when you open it in the morning. After (or during) this time you can use the bleeding procedures (one of many variatons) found on this list. You can also do that first but I like to make sure I have plenty of coolant first.

Did a search on this but didn't find much. 84 Westy, heat seems to be working fine (although not as hot as I remember, although it could be my imagination) Whenever I come to a stoplight and reach down to feel the heat (front, havent checked the rear) its blowing cold until I start moving again. Weird and wacky to me. No coolant leaks and bottle is full.
