I removed the bolt into the side of the tranny, then used a big ol' crowbar to move the slave cylinder bracket enough to get the starter out.

That bracket doesn't 'remove' easily, but it can tilt forward enough to slip

the starter out from under it. Undo the forward bracket at the front of the slave cylinder bracket, at the bottom - one 13mm hex head bolt into the trans there, That will allow the slave bracket to tilt forward enough.

don't undo the bolts that hold the slave cyl. to the bracket, or undo any hydruaic connections. ( though I always like to bleed some fresh brake fluid

into the slave cylinder anytime I am working on anything close to it or part

of it - done right, it can only help enhance the life of the clutch hydrualics. )
