Did you check the shop reviews at Roadhaus.com ?
there's quite a good list of vanagon shops there. 

I recently had a customer who though the had head gasket failure - turned out to be a simple split in a hose, and wasn't a big deal at all.
See if you can see where the leak is, or what area it's coming from. 
Hopefully it's not something major.
